- Get up earlier (have your workout clothes already set out for you).
- Park away from the building!
- Take the stairs everywhere!
- Get up and move every so often while at work.
- If your place of work has a gym, use it! Some employers allow for a certain number of hours a week for exercising. Take advantage of this!
- If you own exercise equipment, use it while watching TV or waiting for dinner to cook.
- Do crunches and push-ups during commercials.
- Do some squats and leg lifts while you brush your teeth.
- Get a workout buddy and keep each other accountable.
- Join a fitness group or make one.
- Take lessons - tap, jazz, ballroom, belly dancing, horseback riding, skiing, rock climbing, surfing, etc.
- Participate in intramural sports.
- Walk the dog.
- Hike at a nearby nature preserve during the weekend.
- Play with your kids - Play catch or tag, dance, march around the house with toy instruments. It's a great excuse for allowing yourself to be a kid again.
This list could go on and on, but now it's your turn. What are your ideas for making exercise a daily part of your life?

If you’ve ever tried #7, then you realize how long those commercials can be! These are great tips. I like to incorporate small bouts of fitness in alot of what we do around the house. When I’m cleaning, I’ll add stretches, simple repetitive moves and more. When playing with the little ones, we jump, skip and dance around the house alot! Thank you for participating in Fitness for Moms Carnival.
Cindy,
I think a great way to exercise and have fun is to play with your kids.
Thank you for hosting a great carnival!
I like to do a little stretching, then some crunches as soon as I get out of bed in the morning. Get’s the motor warmed up and ready for the day!
