I had a rough time getting back to my healthier eating routine after Easter splurging. Even though I didn't eat a lot of junk, I had strong sugar cravings for the next several days. Seems that eating something really sweet triggers me to want more sweets! The more I eat, the more I want. Yet the desire is never truly satisfied, and I end up in the fuzzy, tumultuous world called "Sugar Buzz." A vicious cycle, isn't it? But thankfully, by the end of the week, I was cruising along and eating healthier again. (exhale) Ahhhh, all was well.
Then came the cake...
In the kitchen, My Darling Husband just home from work, holding a package behind his back; Susan cooking vegetables on the stove.
S: "What are you hiding behind your back?"
MDH: goofy grin, "I got a surprise for you."
S: dreading, "Uh oh, it isn't something horribly sweet, is it?"
MDH: displays a multi-colored striped bag labeled "The Cheesecake Factory." Removes a container with a very large slice of carrot cake joined by three globs of whipped cream inside.
S: laughing, "Oh no!"
MDH: "Yeah, it's something horribly sweet." goofy grin
S: Sigh
I appreciate my husband wanting to make me happy, but... could I just have a back massage next time instead of cake?

It’s carrot cake, so you can rationalize it into being “healthy.”
Chocolate cake, now that’s medicinal!
Aww! What a cute thing to do.
Even if…well it’s carrot cake so that makes it healthy right?
It’s only healthy if I pull out all the carrot strands and leave the rest! (But my immunity to not eating cakes is severely lacking!)
Ohhhhh, Anything Cheesecake Factory and Carrot Cake together has me drooling. The Carrot is one of my favorites!
Cindy,
Oh, I agree with you! Just about any dessert from the Cheesecake Factory is yummy! But I tend to lean more towards the cakes than the cheesecakes – not too much of a cheesecake fan (thank goodness)!
I must be tired and time to STOP working (err procrastinating) this post so made me CRAVE the Factory
Oh not the MizFit!
Don’t give in!!!! Don’t….
give…
… Well, one little taste wouldn’t hurt, right – (and those would be my last words and undoing.)
