Exercise, the “Magic Pill”

Exercise does so many good things for you; it’s amazing! If it was sold in pill form, it would probably be taken every day by a lot more people! Too bad getting lean, fit, and healthy isn't as easy as taking a pill everyday! The reality is we have to make the time to exercise, but that time is definitely worth it!

Listed below are the benefits aerobic and anaerobic exercises can give you.

Benefits of Aerobic Exercise (Cardio):

  1. Improves your mood
  2. Increases HDL, high density lipoprotein, (the “good” cholesterol)
  3. Decreases LDL, low density lipoprotein (the “bad” cholesterol)
  4. Help prevent Diabetes, type II
  5. Strengthens bones
  6. Improves your sleep
  7. Better sex
  8. Loose body fat
  9. Improves how body uses glucose and insulin
  10. Decreases blood pressure
  11. Makes heart more efficient
  12. Improves circulation to muscles
  13. Improves lung efficiency and capacity
  14. Improves usage of oxygen in the body
  15. Helps body burn fat more effectively
  16. Boosts immunity
  17. Increases muscular endurance
  18. Gives you energy
  19. Improves your appearance (lean and fit)
  20. Increases your metabolism

Benefits of Anaerobic Exercise (Strength Training):

  1. Makes muscles stronger
  2. Makes tendons, ligaments, and bones stronger
  3. Increases lean body mass
  4. Helps reduce body fat
  5. Improves body’s usage of glucose and insulin
  6. Improves your appearance (sculpted and toned)
  7. Increases your metabolism

If you exercise regularly, I hope these lists make you feel even better about your workouts. If not, maybe remembering all the good things exercise can do for you will provide the motivation to start.
